Dam: Teddybar Elizabeth ARI#
1225334 White Elizabeth (Libby) is a large, conformationally correct female with very good density. With both of her crias she has passed the sire's traits making her an excellent foundation female. Her daughter Glory is bred now so we do not anticipate breeding Libby again.Libby's sire is Catch-A-Romeo who, in his show career, garnered eight 1st place ribbons, two Reserve Color champion ribbons, one Color Champion ribbon and two Judge's Choice fleece awards. In 2012, we bred Elizabeth to Escondido's Makulu, a 7 time color champion. This combination produced a gorgeous white female on July 4, 2013. American Glory is now part of our foundation herd. She looks to be the best cria produced for us (ever!). On July 4th, Libby delivered another beautiful, white cria out of Mile High Eli. American Revolution is compact and sturdy with curly fleece down to his toes.A free breeding is included in Libby's purchase price. Dissident will likely produce a show quality white cria with Libby.
Service Sire: Eastwind's Snowstorm ARI#
848077 White Due Date: 9/20/2019 As-of Jan. 2017, Snowstorm offspring took home a halter class banner from the AOA/AOBA National Show 3 out of the last 4 years, and brought home 1st place halter ribbons from the AOA/AOBA National Show 5 out of the last 6 years.
In addition to being a multi-champion himself... Snowstorm's offspring have received 30 banners and over 100 1st & 2nd place ribbons. His ability to endow offspring with excellent conformation and advanced fleece traits has been validated in the showring, with offspring receiving many color champion & judges choice awards. From his first cria to the most recent one who was awarded Color Champion in both AOA National Halter & Fleece shows in 2016.
"Fineness, crimp, density, uniformity, coverage, excellent conformation, and a beautiful head. This alpaca is the TOTAL PACKAGE." Those were the words of Dr. Julio Sumar (Peru) when he was awarding Snowstorm his first blue ribbon.
If you're looking for more objective data, check out his EPDs. Of standing studs that have Color Championships in a halter class, Snowstorm has the highest published EPDs for improving fineness, and also the highest for curvature. While individual traits are important, we breed for a combination of traits. Snowstorm is the top male for improving fineness, curvature, and fleece weight of standing studs with halter banners. (based on 2016 EPDs - top 20 AFD sorted by MC - Snowstorm is #1, and has the highest AFW of halter champions).Snowstorm had an 18 micron fleece in year 1, and only a 20.3 micron fleece in year 6. At 15 years old he had a 21 micron AFD on his 2018 histogram. That's the kind of lingering fineness everyone should be breeding for. His first year histograms were taken at shoulder, mid-side, and hip. The AFD scores were all between 18.0 and 18.4 micron, showing amazing uniformity. Not only is he fine and consistent, but he shears over 10 lbs of fine, uniform fleece.Snowstorm is a grandson of SNOWMASTER who was sold to a farm in Australia for \$250,000 and then imported back to Peru because of his incredible genetics. There are very few male offspring in this country to carry on his incredible genetics. Snowstorm is one of them.By any measure he is an impressive and unique herdsire. Based on EPDs, progeny, pedigree, and measurable traits, we know he'll improve the offspring of just about any female.
EASTWIND'S SNOWSTORM - WHEN YOU NEED PROVEN, PREDICTABLE, & PREPOTENT
Description
Glory is the whole package - Color champion, Top 1% EPDs, fineness, uniformity, density and looks.
When we select foundation females, we look at conformation, fleece, histograms, pedigree, EPDs, show performance for judge's validation, alpaca size, and fleece weight at shearing.
Glory was the whole package in meeting every criteria as a foundation female. Her conformation, bone structure, and fleece are all champion quality. Her histograms started at 14 micron and at age 4 crept up to 17 micron while holding an SD in the 3's. Her pedigree is loaded with champions that are known for density and fineness, even including a rare Australian line (Jolimont) that's world famous. EPDs are top 1% and match excellent fineness with top fleece weight and shorter staple (=density). Assessments by judges placed her above females from some of the top programs in the nation (for halter and fleece), and she won BEST crimp and BEST hand at 2 different shows. She weighs > 150 lbs and at most recent shearing had an almost 12 lb fleece.
This is the type of foundation female that really is the whole package. We're super excited to pair her with each of our world class herdsires to produce new little superstars in the years to come.
Glory had a beautiful 2018 male named Glacier and she was bred to Snowstorm hopefully for a 2019 female cria.
